The NEBDN Certificate in Oral Health Education is meticulously crafted to empower dental nurses seeking professional advancement as oral health educators. This certification imparts the requisite knowledge and skills necessary to deliver oral health messages proficiently, educate diverse patient groups and adeptly tailor information and communication to individual patient needs.
Learner Eligibility:
How is the course delivered online?
The lessons are delivered virtually via live zoom classes timetabled once a month. Additional supporting materials will be available on our virtual learning environment (eTrain). These include, lecture slides, past video lessons, suggested reading materials and other key resources.
Record of Competence:
A comprehensive Record of Competence (RoC) must be completed as part of the programme requirements. The RoC encompasses three key sections:
- Practical Competence Assessment Sheets (PCAS)
- Case studies
- Supplementary outcomes
Examination:
The assessment consists of a 90-minute written examination with two sections:
Part A – 45 multiple-choice questions (MCQ)
Part B – 30 extended matching questions (EMQ)
Examinations are conducted bi-annually in March and September.
Qualification Attainment:
To secure this qualification, candidates must:
- Successfully complete and fulfil the requirements of the Record of Competence (RoC).
